Hi Guys, I need your help please.

I have a Stilo '03, 1.8 16v, 5 doors.

When I'm driving, the engine hesitates or cuts off for a second or two and then runs to normal again.

Or when I'm in traffic it's like the motor works in 3 cylinders for a moment and then back to normal again

I'm thinking in the Ignition Coils, but no errors on the screen.
My friend already scanned the computer and didn't find errors. :bang:

It's possible to have coil problems with no errors on the screen?
What else can be?

Plugs?

Thanks very much. I changed the plugs 4 months ago for the same behavior. Just changed it again a couple minutes ago. Let's see what happened now.

do see how it goes..,

1 of the few things that directly effect running, but NOT leaving a code.. is the Crank Angle Sensor,
check it for wiring damage, and secure mounting,

Is the third set of plugs in 1 year.

What can be damaging the Plugs so fast?

What are the colour of the tips? Are they oily at all?

Yesterday I felt the miss a couple of times again, I don't know what else can be

mine ran like that once when the throttle body butterfly needed cleaning. kept stalling and juddering. I got some carb cleaner and blasted it throught by revving its nuts off!
never had a problem since.

What about cars oil? Does the car uses more oil than usual? Service done with correct oil on time?

Yeah, I'm doing service every 7k kms with Motul 5w40 Oil Full Synthetic as usual.
And I did the service 2k kms ago.

How car reacts on low revs? Does the engine jitters and shakes ? But reving makes it smoth agian? Have you checked timing ?

The car runs normal on Idle or running, is sometimes that hesitate or stays in 3 cylinder, when I'm driving or when I'm on a red light for example. The problem is not always. Comes like every 5-10 minutes. Sometimes more or sometimes less time.

When I changed the plugs stayed without problem for 6 days, now is starting the problem, slowly again.

No errors on the dashboard and my friend scan the computer and no errors was found.

Timing Kit was changed 12,000 kms ago, 1 year aprox. This problem started 2 weeks ago

Little update of my problem.

I changed the coils yesterday and the car worked fine 1/2 day.
Today the problem again, but at least I have Engine Fault Message on the Dashboard, going to the shop today

I love my car, but I'm getting tired of this problem.

Terrible news for me
I Changed the Coils and the engine light goes on.
I went to the mechanic and he told me that I need to replace the Injector #1 , changed the injector, the problem persist, and now they open the engine, because he told me that the old injector was giving too much gasoline to the system and that could damaged the valves, is that posible?
