I noticed today that when i changed up from 1st to second and 2nd to 3rd with the paddles, it never made the change on about 4 occasions. I'm not sure if it was just a case of needing to pull the paddle a little harder but I have never needed to before.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, or does anyone know if it's a sign that somethings about to go wrong ?

Cheers,

Mark.

How do you normally drive it? I tend to use the paddles a lot, and have never had any times where the gear hasn't changed after a request.....
Mostly always the paddles Stu, unless i'm going round a bend and i need to change gear i will switch to the stick if the paddles are in an awkward possition.

A couple of times I've had to try the paddle twice to get from 1st to 2nd, but it could just be me being cack-handed!

It's happened a few times to me KoA - 1st to 2nd only though. Usually if I'm just poodling in traffic and change up too early. Check the manual - under a certain speed the box will only take commands from the stick.

Maybe it's just over confidence when i'm changinging gear and i didn't pull it as hard as i should, but i really don't think that was the case.

I turned right out of a T junction in 1st gear and pulled the paddle three times before it would change up to second so i think maybe there is a problem :) Also the revs were hitting 5,000 before it finally decided to change.. I turned the car off for a few minutes and restarted it and it happened once more. I then done another 10 mile journey after that with no problem at all  it's like owning another damn PC :D

Maybe we should all open/close our driver's door 10 times

my paddles have been getting worse and worse, at 72k i need to press hard and in the right place or they dont work. You may have the early stages flappy paddle wear.

Probaly are sheap to replace the switches, but to be honest I can't be bothered with the stilo anymore. Just when I think I have the car fault free something else rears its head, wears etc. Not all due to fiat, but I have resigned myself to the fact that the car is only going to get worse and be worth very little when I come to sell it. Aside from servicing I wont be spending money to replace switches etc.

Well i have done just 2.7k so i hope it aint that
I'll mention the possible problem when i take my car in for the A/C.
Cheers Peeps (y)

I must say I've never noticed any problem with my paddles but that's mainly because I don't use them, the only time I do is when I've got a fag on the go. :D (y)

That was my reaction too  I find the car responds so much faster to the paddles ( when it's working :D ) If i use the stick i feel there's a slight delay in the response time compared to the paddle, not much but enough to encourage some PPP (paddle pulling pleasure) :D
