I'm having an ongoing problem with the nearside wheel on my 1.6 52reg stilo.

Over the past few years I have had to replace the nearside front tyre about three times due to rapid wear to the inside edge. Every time I have the tyre done I pay the extra to have the tracking done and I am always presented with a piece of paper with data proclaiming to have corrected my tracking to within acceptable tolerances.

My question is... Could there be something else causing the rapid wear? Buckled wheel maybe? I don't know.... I thought someone might have a better idea what's gong on. Thanks for any help :)

Make sure that the Toe is 0 (Zero) and examine the track rod ends and wishbone rear bushes for play.

Ok, great Peat, that's what I'll take a look at. It did pass 3 MOT's without mention of any play/deterioration of these parts but I will investigate them specifically.

Thanks Morty! - I'm one for cutting out the middle man so i'm interested in trying that - I've seen that guide in the guides section before.

We had this problem with our Mk3 Panda. Turned out that one of the front coil springs was a few cm longer than the other, under compression.

Replaced both springs, and everything is now fine.... (y)

Bizarre, I know... -- and it took some finding. It also made me wonder what else may be wrongly fitted....

Creaking when turning

My front tyres have serious wear issues on the inside edge. Also when I turn I get a 'creaking' from the front suspension. I thought this would be top mounts/strut bearings so had these replaced. I still have the creaking when turning !

Also, while I'm here on a different topic, the inside plastics on my nearside headlight has fallen apart and is rattling round loose. Is there a quick fix or someway to wedge it in place? I've a MOT coming up and a) no money and b) not sure the car is worth buying parts for !

My front tyres have serious wear issues on the inside edge.

I think this is pretty common. https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo-faqs/47488-stilo-wheel-alignment-issues.html

I've had 2 JTD Stilos, covered about 300,000 between them. Both constantly gave exaggerated wear on the inner edge of the front tyres.

And of course, every time the tyre depot offers to sell me an alignment check. I've had this done at least 3 times, and it has never made any difference to the wear pattern.
