Hi, I have a Stilo 1.4 (2005).

I have been needing to reprogram the keys, so got myself a copy of multiecuscan and the correct ELM327 adaptor and also went to a FIAT garage to get myself the code card (£42 inc VAT!!!)

FIAT gave me a printout of the International Security Register, this contained three codes

  • Ignition key number e.g. AA00000 (2 letters, 5 digits)
  • Immobiliser e.g. 00000 (5 digit)
  • Radio code e.g. 0000 (4 digit)
I have tried entering the immobiliser code when programming the keys, but MultiECUScan says the code is invalid.

Have FIAT sold me the wrong thing???

Just to note, I have been able to reset the service indicator and find my faults with the climate control (long list). So the program and adaptor is working fine.

Fiat produces the code from their database according to your VIN so as long as your bodycomputer, keys and ecu were not replaced the code should work....

hard to say without seeing your printout BUT, it should be a single page with a reference order number and below that "Electronic Cod" which will be five digits.

I made sure the place I got mine form gave me the ri8ght code, because they did point out that there was the immobiliser codes etc, AND the electronic code (for programming keys).

Not saying what you have is wrong, just saying that what I have, says its the Electronic Code.

Ah right. Is the electronic code different to the immobiliser code? does anyone know?

I might go back to FIAT and say that they have given me the wrong codes.

I asked for the electronic code, nowhere on the form does it say electronic code (the guy said that the 5 digit immobiliser code was the one for the keys).

I've attached a photo of the form which they gave me (with the details blanked out). Anyone know if this is the one I need?

im not 100% sure, sorry, all I know is the chap told me specifically there were TWO sets of codes, and I confirmed from my hand manual that the code he got for me was correct and indeed it was. Might be worth checking with them, and ask if there is a different code available with the title "Electronic Code".

As specified on the Security Register form there are only 3 codes available for customers:

the mechanical code to cut the keys;
the PIN code (or electronic or immo code);
the code of the Original car radio.

another random code (FIX code) is only used internally by Fiat for generating the PIN code and the (secret/encrypted) transponder code.

I appear to be in the same situation, lock light on the dash staying on and car not starting along with EBD warning etc. I have the key code but its a 4 digit not 5 and reading the manual for emergency start it states a procedure to go through with the throttle pedal using the "electronic" code which of course I don't have. I have tried the code and an MO 5 digit code but to no avail. All going swimmingly and not getting anywhere. :(
