As I'm going deaf in my old age I thought I would fit a buzzer to the signalling circuit somewhere. If the control stalk doesn't self centre, which it doesn't on shallow turns, I drive along merrily with the turn indicator flashing. I don't like other motorists doing it so I need to remedy the problem sooner rather than later - and before some wag says get hearing aids - I have but if worn in the car I can hear every little rattle and squeak!

Has this been done?

Are there any suggestions as to where would be the most appropriate point to fit?

I have attempted to use eLearn - without success and locate the indicator relay - without success, except to say it's somewhere on the Body Computer.

Open to all suggestions

If you choose to go for the wiring and tapping into front wing wires which would be easiest way as Mark said above you may well find yourself having the bulb failure message appearing on the dash, due to the extra load on the circuit when the buzzer operates.
Though the only way to find out would be to wire it up with the length of wire you intend to use and test before routing the wire into the cabin area.

why dont you just pay attention that the indicator is still flashing after turning it on to turn it off?
:yeahthat:

Although fair play to the chappy for actually having the manners to use the indicators there are far too many folk in these parts that seem to find the action of moving the indicator stalk a very exhausting experience, along with having no brain cells to understand the use of their mirrors, perhaps they should be classed as an option when buying the car but hey do not go giving them ideas on that..anyways if the man needs something buzzing in his cabin I hope he enjoys his ride...:)

As he's already mentioned, and what he doesn't want us to mention, is that he's getting old ;)

Provided a nice tone and volume of buzzer is chosen I think this could be a nice feature, even for the youngsters out there who play their tunes a bit loud :p

Doesn't really answer the question, but I believe if you remove the plastic shield that sits above your feet over the pedals, it allows more sound from the indicator 'clicker' to enter the passenger compartment. So you might then be able to hear it more easily.

Just a thought...

Thanks for replies chaps. I will be trying out a couple ways to implement a solution when I return from the States.

Best idea I have is to get a 7 way bypass towbar relay and 2x led trailer resistor "ballasts". Wire to a switched live to relay tap into both rear light cluster indicator wires as per towbar fitting instructions put the 2 ballasts on the indicator output side of the relay see the Grande punto guided for.
