General Fiat stilo 2002 windscreen wiper linkage

wiper arm nut came loose and your wiper arm is no longer attached securely

wiper linkage fault. youll have to remove the scuttle panel (plastic bit below the windscreen) to inspect further

Hi, if the drivers side wiper is working than the linkage is most probably broken between the drivers side and the passengers side wiper blades.
Usually what happens is that the ball joint with a plastic lining gives away at the passengers side wiper causing the metal link to just drop down and not turn the wiper any more.
In two ways you can fix it: either do a little DIY and/or welding a washer onto to the passengers side metal link so as it does not fall off the ball joint or even use an inexpensive metal clip to hold it back in place, or the full on professional approach would be to order a complete new (aftermaket) linkage repair kit for the Stilo, approx 30 pounds on the net and from a respectful manufacturer of linkage repair kits.
I had mine done with a simple spot weld and a washer... few minutes of work...
Cheers mate!

The challenging part is getting the plastic scuttle off for the first time. But it is a straight forward job. Remove wiper arms (WD 40 helps if they are rusted shut), open bonnet, remove plastic plugs and scuttle and you are at the wiper motor mechanism. From there it's an easy fix.

Buy some of what Zoli calls 'plastic plugs' before you start. You will destroy them when you remove them.
