Hi everyone, how easy is it to replace my rear shockers on my stilo multiwagon? Is it a diy job? Also front spring cap? Do I have to drop the front shocker and spring or can I just unbolt top bolt? And lastly.... My electric mirrors have stopped working, fuse ok, any idea's?

rear shocks are a diy job if you ok with the spanners only 2 nuts holding in place..remove wheel and clean up threads and pentetrate with oil for while before starting make removal and easy access once rear wheel is off, good idea to check handbrake cable and little lube on cable and caliper pivot while you at it...
Not any help for your front shock question..
As for mirrors not operating you could try looking at the circular electric door connector could be bad connection or try dis-connecting main battery for 30 mins see if it re-learns the mirrors if your fuse is ok try another fuse just in case the fuse in place has a poor connection also

Hi Steven

i have a multiwagon and it doesnt take much for the back end to drop with a bit of weight on the back, i got the springs changed when the bushes got done, im thinking about the shocks, let me know how you get on.

i think my n/s/f spring cup/holder has gone got a little knocking noise, drop links first to take them out the question.

let us know how you get on.

Hi Paul...
Got a pair of Monroe rear shocks for £79 inc vat... And apart from having a little trouble with the bottom bolt on each side, fitting them was a doddle.. Car is now silent at the back.. The only knocking I can hear is the stuff in the boot.... Lol.
Just need to blank off the egr valve now and sort the heating system out as it's blowing hot air one side and cold the other....
Would def recommend changing shocks though.... Both my top mount rubbers had perrished....
Let me know how u get on...
Cheers
Steve

Hi Paul.....
You're right it has made a huge difference...
You will probably find that the top bolt on the rear shocks which has a rubber bush in it is completely perished or at least on its way out. This top mounting bolt was a doddle to undo, it was just the bottom one that was a real pain.... Seized solid, needed loads of penetrating fluid and a couple of goes with tyrepower's air gun..if you leave the car on axle stands and put a jack under the rear hub it makes it a lot easier to manoeuvre the bottom bolt in..
Get the bottom bolts loosened first and you'll have no probs....
I've just got the other 101 jobs to do now... Lol..
Good luck. Let me know how u get on....
Steve
