Just had car in for MOT and found out that my far side rear breaks have stuck on. Mechanic said it shouldn't be to much to fix but didn't explain why this happens? There has been no noticeable difference in the drive.

Car is back in tomorrow to get fixed as of yet I don't know if its just fixing the break pads or the calliper.

Any advice?

Stilo rear nearside brakes have a tendency to stick. I suggest the following . At each service take out the pads and clean the slides and use a bit of copper slip before reassembling (this is not a Fiat service item -but should be). The handbrake cable tends to stick inside its sheath. This could be due to heat from the exhaust, so its a good idea to make sure they slide freely at each service. Finally the calipers can seize (although mine lasted for 160k) and these are available reconditioned on ebay considerably cheaper than Fiat prices.
