Afternoon Gents!

im thinking of putting a new cam belt kit/water/pump/aux belt, i have the loose aux belt noise when the engines under a bit of load when under 2000rpm. and on tickover

Since i have had the rear bushes/springs/h-brakes cables/wishbones all changed. i think the next thing is this and a possible engine mount.

Is the cam belt job easy or me to attempt?, i have had a quote of £270 for cam belt kit/aux belt and coolant change could be next be a plan the end of the month.

Cheers

The guide is a handy read if your thinking of doing the work yourself, and if your also handy with the spanners not a difficult job..having done the work your thinking of doing can say the worst part and time consuming part was removal and refitting of items to gain access to cambelt..you will also need to remove cam sensor if doing waterpump, these can be thread lock stuck as mine was , though was able to just remove one of the two fixing allen bolts to allow removal of waterpimp.
I also found to drain coolant for waterpimp change and you may aswell change coolant at same time I found access to lower hose at radiator awkward so just removed from where it attached to engine and lower hose to drain coolant, you need new jubilee clip wherever you choose unless previously done..and then when all back together remember to bleed the coolant for air blocks there is a small bolt on metal coolant tube aswell as on hose carefull not to over tighten and break this bolt..there is details here somewhere on drain points for jtd,, I did cambelt kit waterpump, new aux belt without any special tools bar 15mm spanner for releasing tension on aux belt
