General JTD Fuel Leak

Well I'm a bit gobsmacked, the cambelt kit just arrived too. 3 different suppliers, 3 different couriers and everything arrived the same day.

Is the cambelt still made by Dayco or is it a Contitech belt?

You can take the pump off without upsetting the timing, there is two threaded holes in the head, the throttle housing bolts go through it and bolt the pulley to the head, the pump then comes away very easy. As you say it doesn't need timed so its just a bolt up job. The 16v is a wee bit different, there's a woodruff key on the pump shaft but its the same, I have removed inlet manifolds on both engines without untensioning the belt. Sorry if I'm too late shadey

This is a photo of the writing on the belt, just shows the Fiat parts emblem, no other manufacturer name.

No your not too late, I'm not doing it myself. (y)
A friend of mine is doing it. He has over 30 years as a mobile mechanic, only charging £160 including replacing the rear calipers.

Fingers crossed it should be back on the road Saturday afternoon.

It's Fenner, probably the largest manufacurer of polymer belts and drives, certainly in the UK if not Europe. Some 45 years ago I worked for Borg-Warner Transmissions and Fenner were the ones to beat!

.

I suspect alexGS is correct and they are Fiat because the same emblem found on the Stilo's rear bushes is also found on this belt.

Most parts that are made for Fiat by outside suppliers have the Fiat parts emblem, and/or FIAT on them. The clutch I fitted to my JTD last year had Valeo and FIAT printed on it, because it came from a Fiat dealer and was in a Fiat box. The same clutch supplied by Valeo in a Valeo box would only have had Valeo printed on it.

Well my friend Paul did a great job replacing the cambelt, water pump and seals in the high pressure diesel pump.

Unfortunately the only photo's I was able to get is this one of Paul refitting everything.

And this one of the parts he replaced. The small O ring type seal in the center was the reason for the leak.

EDIT.
Paul is a very good mobile mechanic here's his details in case any of you want to use him.

This is the ONLY post on the internet I can find re 2.0 JTD High Pressure Fuel Pump.

Can ANYONE tell me or show me how the pump can be removed without upsetting the timing?

Mine has a massive fuel leak and I've ordered the oring kit. I've done 4 of these in the past but this is the only one attached to the Tbelt. The others were attached to the Cam.
