Hi chaps, i have a weird one.... when i bought my car the fan never worked on full speed only slow, but when the battery went flat over christmas i re charged it it put it on and the fans worked on all speeds i was happy... 3 hours later i went out in the wagon and the fan didn't work again, it seems weird that it worked for a few minutes and then nothing could it be a fan issue or a fuse any help would be pleasently received i am gonna get my hands dirty onit soon as the weather gets a bit warmer.

Robin,

The digital climate (assuming it hasn't changed between Stilo and Bravo) won't kick the fan in when the water temp is cold unless you hit the Max button.

Take it out for a drive and you should see it kick in as the temp decides to get off the line.

If you use the Max button you will get it blasting for @ 10 minutes, then it goes to sleep before coming back as it tries to reach your present temp.

Thanks for that buddy but i cannot get it to come on at speed now no matter how high the fan speed is, max button is that the compressor button? i put the fans on to top speed when i first started it after i put a freshly charged battery in and then stopped when i turned the engine of and after that nothing

The Max is a defrost button,

It puts on the blowers, the rear screen and mirrors, it is time / temp limited so it will cut out @ 10 mins later

Also in these low temps the AC will not be on as the system disables it until the temp gets to @ 5 degrees C to prevent pipes freezing.

right i get you, yep i click it on max thats the front window and rear deforst buttons but i cannot hear any blowers going or feel it.... its like a trickling tap but the more you turn nothing happens but it worked once lol for about 5 minutes and so did the fan speeds up and down and then it has not worked since or before that lol... i do need to have a better look at it i wondered if there was a quick and easy fix for this

Try pressing the Auto button before Max to clear any settings you have.

The first thing to be certain of is whether the engine is warming up correctly. Temperature gauge needle should be reaching the halfway point. If not, then the thermostat likely needs replacing. Then the climate control might be more cooperative

Unfortunately it does sound like the fan speed controller (built into the fan motor) might be "goosed" (broken) - it has happened before. Bit of a nuisance to get to, I'm told - driver's footwell near pollen filter.

hi buddy. Yep it gets to temp fine and i get warm/hot air just not fast flowing like i have had on previous cars although it worked when i put the battery on for a short while until i swotched of the ignition off then it didnt work again i am gonna check the maxi fuse to see if that has gone but failing that i wanna change the fan
