Anyone know how long it takes FIAT/AA to sort the AA Cover when you register? I bought a used Stilo privately and registered a month ago and have heard nothing. I spoke to the AA and they say they won't cover me until they hear from FIAT....

Anyone else had any experience of this?

Hi
I too registered (completed the form) for the AA cover. Although I had AA cover before i bought the stilo, i thought that if this was free, i might as well claim it and cancel my other.
Well i still haven't heard anything.
Am I right in thinking its the car covered with the cover they offer for the stilo as currently its the cardholder (hope i'm making sense here)

Let me know if u hear anything

Just thought I'd mention, I bought a second hand Stilo in June. The Stilo was registered to the dealer (as a demo) and I have received no letters from the AA (all I have is an AA card with the emergency number on it), I am fully covered because I've had to call them twice.

When did you fill in the form Bev? Was it the form in the warranty handbook or did you get sent one?

I too have cover already (RAC) but would like to cancel this.

I spoke to the AA yesterday and they told me I wasn't covered until they get my info from Fiat. Maybe you should call them and find out (cust services number on the AA card).

The AA cover I got with my new Stilo is for the vehicle only. I think you can pay extra and make it personal cover allowing you to call the AA if you are in any other vehicle. But as is, it's only the car that is covered.

If you are already a member of the AA, then ask them to put your membership on hold. A friend at work has had two new cars (Peugeots) in 3 years and has got free AA cover with each. She called the AA and they put her membership on hold, ready for when the free cover expires.

I got mine second hand, the dealer sent in some forms and I got a letter from fiat thanking me for purchasing the car. I got a little credit card type thing that had all the numbers on, what to do if I ever need them. Even shows the expiry of the various warranties on the car.

Each card is individual to the car as it shows your reg. no on it. Pretty sure the garage said they had to request a "warranty transfer" maybe worth asking about

So, the question is - Is the car definately covered regardless of the owner and driver? I have RAC cover I want to cancel. Fiat say I'm covered but AA Customer Services say I'm not.

I've written to Fiat asking them to confirm the situation for me once and for all. Will let you know how I get on.....
