Hello

My boot lid rattles a bit when the car is stationary, not a major problem but can get a bit annoying sometimes. I've stood outside when the car is running and by simply pressing the rear wiper or the actual boot lid itself above number plate it stops. Can i do anything to reduce or elimate this rattle?

Its more noticeable during these winter months but i don't think it was as bad in summer.

There should be 2 adjustable rubber stoppers that hold the boot in the correct place, try playing with those.

Thanks for your replies. I've never noticed them before!

I've had a fiddle with those stopper things, not made much difference. The rattle seems to disappear when the rear wiper arm or the actual boot lid metal is held/pressed. I've tried removing the plastic trim on the inside of the boot lid but gave up as i didn't want to break anything! Could my boot lid be loose?

Is the loop part of the lock adjustable, the latch part of the lock which is fixed to the car body.

It has two fixing screws, undue them and try moving it lower down ?

I've fixed something :slayer: The rattle was down to one of those rubber stoppers. The thread on the black plastic thing that is attached to the boot lid itself was damaged so the rubber stopper wasn't screwing on properly. The passenger side stopper is screwed flush to the boot lid but the other side wasn't sitting properly. Anyway with the stopper removed, no more rattles! I've got a new one on order from Fiat

One rattle down, one left!

I've fitted my new boot stopper but it sits differently to the other side. The one that is flush is the old one but the new one doesn't screw any tighter. Anyway I've faffed about with it and I've broke the ratchet system but now I've managed to screw the stopper bit more or less flush like the other side. So I've matched it up but in a fashion! How on earth do these things work?
