I'm having my backbox done on Saturday morning :D .....(gonna have a re-map and a CDA eventually, but can't be bothered to change the whole exhaust system!)

I wanted some opinions on what tail pipe to have on it? It's being done by the same people that did Bo~Select@'s.

Here's the link

http://www.mijperformance.com/

There's a button at the top which shows the tail pipe's available. What do people think suits the Abarth best?

p.s Not gonna have the bumper cut.... not feeling that brave!

That one should have a nice burble on idle i think looking at the way the lip is rolled....

Or i am probably totally wrong! lol

Post some pics up when its done !!!

Yeah.... I was looking at that one (I know Koa's looks really good), but I was leaning towards this one in the dual pipe. A bit more oval rather than round!

Both would look cool :D

Best bet is go to the place thats fitting it and get them to try lots of different ones against the car.
If the place is good then they will be happy to do that, if not, go somewhere else.

I was sure i was gonna get a single oval design until the garage tried them against the car and the one i got was the one i instantly liked. I knew it as soon as i saw it on the car. It looked quality so that done it for me.

They have already said that part of the service is to tailor the sound and to help match the tailpipe to the car. I just would have liked an idea of what I wanted and what looks good before I went there. Knowing me, I could be there all day and still not make a decision! :bang:

Well lets try to help you a little then shall we, or at least give you an opinion :)

What colour is your Abarth Spike ?

Is it lowered, or will it be lowered ?

Do you have the Fiat five spoke alloys ?

Right then.....

The Abarth is black. At some point I might have it lowered, but the main things I want done are the re-map and the CDA at the moment (hopefully end of June for them!) I've got the 17" Fiat five spoke alloys.

Also, it's not just a tail pipe I'm having. It's a custom built back box for £149. The problem I've got is that I need to choose a tail pipe from their selection to put on it!

I did think about having the whole super sprint exhaust, but I just dont want to outlay all that cash on top of the other things I want done. A new back box and tail pipe should (cosmetically) finish it of nicely.

Yeah that's ok but the supersprint system is actually tuned to the engine therefore it actually does something. I've fitted the cat back system which is supposed to give about 8bhp & it took me longer to get it out of the packet than it did to fit it because it's already tailor made to fit, it just slips straight into the original hangers. You don't need to buy the whole system just get the backbox then the centre section later on when you can afford to. (y)

If its black then i would deffinately go for the single wide oval shaped pipe like these ones. I have seen this style on a black abarth and it just looks so right :)
Not sure who makes the exhaust your planning on but if you got a powerflow exhaust you will get a BHP increase even just with the backbox..
Here's some figures on a saxo :yuck:

The oval one I think. The twin is OTT, and flat tailpipes look a bit 1980s if you ask me. The oval one looks nice though.
