Not really sure where to put this topic, but just in case anyone was wondering or is contemplating buying a new Multijet, I´ve performed a series of runs with a GPS device, to record the top speed.

And the results:

Top speed on flat terrain: 213 km/h (220 km/h on speedo)

I´d say that´s pretty darn impressive for a car that´s only supposed to go 200 km/h according to the factory. Oh, and yes, the engine is stock.

Cheers!

That is impressive.
Do you know how many bhp your multijet has?
I have heard they normaly have a bit more than the standard 140bhp.

Yes, the top speed figure would certainly lead me to believe so. I´d say it probably has around 150 bhp to be able to top out at this speed. Also note that the top speed was achieved at almost exactly 4000 rpm in 6th gear.

According to a test done by a magazine here in Spain, the multijet engine delivers 152,7bhp. Is it the same on all engines or does it vary from one to another??? If they all give thet kind of power why doesn't fiat sell it as a 150bhp diesel engine insead of 140????

Alfa Romeo 147, that´s why :D
I have to say I´m really impressed with the car. Its 0-100 acceleration time is about 8 seconds and top speed is over 210 km/h. It´s now clear to me why an Audi A4 3.0 quattro could not pull away from me significantly when I had a Rapid tuning module installed in the car. The setting used was +25% and with the BHP figure you provided that makes for over 190 BHP. Never got to test the top speed with a GPS, but the 0-100 km/h figure I measured was 6.8 seconds with a 1500 rpm launch (speedo at almost 105 km/h when the timer stopped). That would give most of the hot hatches a run for their money. And the best part? It runs as smooth as silk, is quiet, has almost no vibrations and it gets crazy mileage. What more could a guy want?

No need for the Abarth badge though is there??? I'm a fan of my mutijet but i still can't compare it with a good 'lo 5 cylinder 2.4l engine!!!!! (when i get it rempped and up to 180bhp then maybe we can talk!!!!!!) (y)
