Howdy people. Got 17'' claws and I'm thinking of buying a narrower tyre to get the stretched look. What I'm finding is that a 205 or 195 tyres seem to be more expensive than the wider 215 that are on them. Anyone already have stretched tyres on claws that could advise or even post a wee pic.
Many thanks

I have smaller tyres on mine and it feels better, less sluggish, feels more positive. Made little difference to the cabin noise. I've driving with them over a year with no problems, hasn't affected tyre wear either. Stretched tyres are an image many people in the modifying scene go for. It's a look. It's a look this individual wants. He wants information and guidance, not criticism. You should find what studentas said useful

thanks mate. The last part of or post took the words out my mouth.

Thanks to the members who gave sound advice and there experiences with living with the stretched tyres.
To the bitching whingers who's helpless opinions where a waste of forum space, go and post somewhere else.

It's the look of a stretched tyre that's the appeal. Most of my driving is motorway anyways so no twisting back roads for me. Lol.

It's a forum...... everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you only want people to agree with you, perhaps you should go and post somewhere else.

Davren I'm well aware its a forum and we'll aware of the crap that come out from them to. I've used other forums for help and advice on matters with every car I've owned. There great for advice and most of the other members are very helpful and share there personal experiences with issues to help others. Not to have time wasters fill a topic with useless posts.

Stop defending the time wasters. Can u see where I'm coming from.

will you be notifying your insurance company of this mod?

4. Each tyre fitted to the
vehicle shall be of a nominal
size appropriate to the wheel
to which it is fitted.

3 points a £60 fine and more than likely your insurance company won't pay out if you have an accident.

what a surprise this stupid trend appears to originate from vw owners. http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/p/441428/3020273.aspx

Hmmm never knew it could lead to points.
That's useful to know.

But it's not a Veedub. Italian cars are well known for having a unique but classy style. It's your car but for me it's nice to see Italian cars sticking to doing mids that compliment the Italian Style not copying something that is popular in a different Marque culture.
The Stilo Arches yearn for bigger wheels unlike most veedubs. The 17s look a bit weedy due to the profile of the tyre needed. Stretching to say "I've got Stretch yo" is exactly that. A mod that you can talk about. Not one that will actually look good.

If you packed the arches with Dubs and slammed it 50mm then maybe you could pull off a stretch.

Perhaps the best place for this waste of space of a thread is in the bin.

I have never seen such a stupid thing as stretching tyres on rims and a highly dangerous one at that.
Think anyone who drives with these on a car needs their head examined.

My own thoughts on this mind!!
