hi all ive been told my control panel is faulty so was gonna get a second hand one. But realised i dont know if its model specific or it has to be one from same year or same model number or needed to be coded in. Any help appreciated

If you have Climate Control with Display type for air con..there is no need for coded work to be done and would imagine the same goes for the 3 knob type control panel..if it is 3 knob type controls just make sure it is an Air con one..the climate control type can only be Air con
Are you sure it is panel..only ask as I had issues with climate control and tried another display control panel with no luch turned out to be a blower fan fault which replaced and now working correctly.

If it has an LCD display the unit contains a "Node" so the car will need to have Proxi-alignment done.

FiatECUScan(http://www.fiatecuscan.net) is able to do it. (y)

the issue with my climate control was blower only working on very low blow speed with coming into fast blow mode for demist when it felt like it..
It does depend on the type of system you have either climate control or the turn dials system as the blower motors are different..climate control blower has 4 pin connector but only uses 3 pins of it,,blower is in left side of drivers foot well behind cover and pollen filter..awkward place to work in but possible also if it is climate control blower issue you will find more recent fitment was the bosch blower and needs longer 4 pin plug cable ..I extend cables myself but made sure if you do to use correct gauge cable with the current that blower uses when on full you do not want to fry the cable and cause a fire problem..although extender cables are available at a price from fiat.
Never realised proxy was needed for display but do have the fiat ecu software so handy to know for future and already done to get the cruise control conversion showing up on dash.
There are many good posts if you search for fan related problems..just depends on problem you are experiencing

Hi thanks for the help but i stripped it and the leg had fallen out of the panel and the cable had come off. But thanks anyway. A word of warning what a swine of a job.
