Hi guys,

Im looking to get a new exhaust for my 1.6 16V,
also to get lowering springs and shocks.

But I need some advice, if people could post pics of their exhausts and how much it cost them that'd be brilliant, (Including links please!) Im looking to spend under £300 ish.
Also Im not swayed either way on if the bumper gets cut, ( I think it looks slightly cooler cut)

As to lowering springs and shocks, Is it worth doing this or buying cheap coilovers? I dont want to drop lower than 40mm, and have the tools to do this myself,

Im also looking at strut braces, have looked on the forum but OPM seem to be the only make people have had, are there any others out there?

Thanks

Not done an exhuast on mine apart from decat stainless manifold, but you know what would be cool (and is my intnention to do ;)) would be to have a hidddent back box :D

Decent coilovers will set you back 400 upwards, you scrimp on them you scrimp on quality I'm afraid. Springs on there own with standard shocks is no good so it would be a good idea as you said to go for springs and shocks, something eibach offer I'm pretty sure. Something along the lines of their sportline kit or similar?

Yeah OMP are the one everyone knows about for strut braces on the Stilo, only other one you can get is from ultra racing. They also do front/rear lower braces, and I believe members prefer the ultra racing substitutes over OMP :) Apparently the bOMP braces aren't as good due tp the front one being adjustable it creates a weakpoint for flexing under load, also the rear brace is apparently a bad design but then again people rave about the handling when the rear brace is fitted :s

Ah Mark I can understand that but I want mine showing :p
the eibach ones Ive seen are like £150 for springs alone, Im hoping I can lower my car for less than that,
Alsoo (i cant post links atm) you have linked to (carparts tuning.co.uk) are their FK shocks any good? as they are v cheap :D

Im thinking I wan to keep my car legal so dcat isnt really an option,
Grant you say you got a powerflow centre and back, how much did it set you back?

I found this comany
mijperformance
who do a back box for 160 inc fitting, and Its not too far away, Has anyone had any experience with mjiperformace?

Thanks!

Thanks for those links Yellow Peril,

Longlife looks like a good bet, and they have a dealer near me (Y)

as for strut braces, are the Ultra racing ones for the Arbarth suitable for my 1.6? as in i take it they have the same fittings?

Yes they should fit a 1.6. Just check your engine bay against the pic on the UR website. The upper front one does require some drilling of the strut tower by the way (and so does the OMP).

There's a fitting guide here that might help:

https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo-guides/47410-how-fit-front-upper-strut-brace.html

And if you want a full set of braces, this UR upper rear one for the Bravo also fits the Stilo:

i fitted lowering springs on standard shocks on my last car and that was fine, cost me £80 for the springs and took me 2 hours to do, will do the same on my jtd now, not looked at strut bars but would assume it would tighten up the handling no end. if you are handy with the spanners it shouldn't take you too long to fit

£300 wont get you a lot. Prices of materials have rocketed.
This one was a while ago now. On same engine as yours £350 custom build from Flexi, removing centre box from zeroexhausts. http://www.zeroexhausts.co.uk/

This one sounded awesome.

This i couldnt cut the Bumper as the Schumi valance is so thin. Cost around £700.
