Hey hey

been around here for some time now, using these forums for their great help and tut's. Like many i had loose connection errors.
The car wouldn't die on me when i was driving, but randomly giving me the error when trying to start the car, the engine would turn, but it wouldn't run...

Checked and tested battery
checked earth connections
checked fuse box
changed camshaft sensor

after we changed the sensor loose connections were gone for a couple of weeks, didn't see the error until yesterday. same as last time, engine would turn over, but wouldn't start...

Anybody have any suggestions what i should do?
Any help would be realy appreciated

Q2 : my rear left wheel bearing is busted, makes a whole lost of noise when driving....
does anybody know if it is possible to swap the bearing without special tools?
is it it a pressed bearing? (dunno if that is the correct sentence XD )

is there a good tut for changing the bearing?

The rear wheel bearing is supplied as a kit, already fitted to a new hub flange. There is an expensive special tool used is to stake the new hub nut, but it can be done with a blunt chisel and a hammer.

thnx m8

Anybody have any ideas about the loose connection?

theres a few on here at the moment going through the dreaded old loose connection including myself - theres another article on the first page "alternator failure lose connection" where i listed some of my finding from this forum feel free to take a look

Out of interrest what follows the loose connection? I.e Alternator failure ..have you tried the crankshaft. Sensor ?best to get a diagnostics test see comes back with anything

Good luck..keep us posted(y)

thnx moschino02

the error is followed by the car not starting :p
no other errors (except for abs and ebd, but they both work)

been reading through te forums last couple of weeks. been reading all threads concerning loose connection. there are alot of different causes... ah well, if nobody has an idea i think the next thing to do is to change the crankshaft sensor

My 1.6 2003 dynamic is booked in for a crankshaft sensor. What about a diagnostics test for your jtd?

been to the garage 6 times now, but somehow the error doesnt stick in the memory... so basicly i have to wait till i get the error, get to the garage and get it read right away.

All the times i towed the car to the garage (after trying ALOT to get it started...) they checked it between 3min and 1 hour. all the times he got it started first try...

this loose connection is soooooo frustrating :(

I know how you feel trust me..it never seems to cut out whilst its there at the garage, even when it does do it, it justs turns over straight away logging no faults.it Could well be ECU related, thought about getting that tested ? my next step after the crank shaft sensor.

@MEP

Separate issue? I have already had -ABS -SEcurity and High Temp failure messages display after loose connection but alternator failure is the one i get everyday everythough garage said is fine

changed the wheelbearing and the crankshaft sensor today. now lets hope that stupid loose connection is gone...

wheelbearing was a pice of cookie! it came right off :)

crankshaft sensor took longer... took some fiddeling, but we managed to get it done

thanks all, i'll let you guys know how things go :)
