I've read a post from Lead somewhere in the forum saying about the puddle lights (the ligths placed on the inside of the doors) and that they weren't working. He wrote that he removed them and found out that they were not containing any bulbs.
I removed mine too, and found no bulbs.
Does anyone have the same problem? Did anyone solve this problem whithout going to the dealer (like adding bulbs alone)? If yes, what type of bulbs are needed?

Thanx

Mine only had reflectors.
They are shown in the handbook and in the Brochure.
I asked the dealer to rectify it and I have just had them fitted. I saw a Stillo with the door panel off and there is a wiring loom that goes to the puddle lights. Not sure if it is there and you just need to fit bulbs. The lens is now part clear and part red so these will need to be changes as well. :)

......Ham............

Mine work fine:)Like the man says, the lens is half red and half clear. I definately get the dealer to sort it.

Are the puddle lights in the brochure/website/info packs in Cyprus? Or did you ask the dealer specifically about puddle lights? If they are not standard in Cyprus and the dealer didn't promise them you may have difficulty getting them fitted.

Still, it's always arguing with car dealers.....;)

I bought a set of bulbs hoping it was all that was needed to fix it. (I too didn't want the hastle of arguing with a dealer.) Unfortunately, it isn't as simple as inserting a bulb.

The wiring is indeed there, but the terminals between the wiring and the bulb aren't.

So it looks like a dealer job. [:(!] Unless you can find a scrap yard with a Stilo in it! ;)

Puddle lights disappared from all stilo I think...

They were standard before january for all stilo, after fiat done a revision of some standard equipments...

disappared puddle lights and 12 V socket... someone in Italian forum says because the bus in the doors were overloaded... I don't know if this is true!!!...

I heard also dead lock system is changed... for new stilo it could be actived only by remote control and not by the lock...
does anyone confirm?

I have to 'double-tap' the locking button on the remote to engage the deadlocks. (Ordered my car in Feb, got it in May.)

I ordered my Stilo in December and in the brochure is says they are standard equipment. But then again the 12V socket and the ASR system were standard too. I will contact my dealer then and see if they can do anything.
Thanx for the replies.

Can't you active it by the lock in the door?

You are right to be angry for this...

about ASR-MSR for me you can do something because are important equipments... but I think that is impossible to fit them now...

about puddle lights and 12V socket a dealer who loves is clients could fit them... 2 lamps... how much for an official dealer????

The brochures riported them because are old and Fiat didn't update them... (if someone still speaks about Easy-Go in the brochures, optional never been available, immagine the situation!)

However Fiat in this story does only a poor figure, it changed equipments and didn't changed the brochures?...
Then pay for this, clients don't pay less if their car is without ASR-MSR. puddle lights, etc...
Fiat should send a letter of apologies to all clients in this situation recognizing them a compensation: some car services free, some optionals, etc... but silence no!

As i can see in other posts it isn't about FIAT, but about FIAT representatives around Europe. Each dealer acts as the FIAT group owner with his own policies and rules.
For example when FIAT changes the specs for one car they inform the dealers whose orders are at the production line that the car specs have changed. The dealers MUST inform the clients (us) that the specs of the car we ordered have changed and give us the new specs. If we still want the car we say ok. Then the dealers must inform the factory about the number of oks. This is the FIAT GROUP policy as i can understand.
Now in Cyprus, which is a small island, the official dealer (the only one) doesn't sell a big number of FIATs. So when FIAT changed the specs of the car, the dealer doesn't inform the clients that the specs have changed and answers a big OK to the factory for all the cars. This is called "Different Dealer Different Policy" or DDDP :).
In my opinion this is the problem of FIAT as for the specs matter.

Now as for the puddle lights, i have counted the output voltage and i was amazed.
There is continuously 12V output over there. Either the car is on or off the output is the same. Hehe. Probably there is something else that must be done (as Lead said) than just plugging a bulb. [V]

I don't know if this'll help guys, but i've checked my Fiat Parts CD (2003 version) and there is a listed modification for the puddle lights:

C5829 / D5829: "NUOVA PLAFONIERA PRIVA DELLA LUCE ANTIPOZZANGHERA"

When translated, I think it means "New Platforms (Models) are without Anti-Puddle Lights".

I got puddle lights in my car, no 12v in boot tho, (october2003) but it was ordered in July. Why would it take so long to build a standard Stilo?

Cos when there is a crisis and a factory works with half the personel, usualy time to completion is multiplied by 2. :p

I ordered my car mid August and I received end of September. I got it without the 12V socket in the boot (the dealer said that Stilos are not equipped with this option any more), but I had puddle lights (the clear/red version, with bulbs in and working as well :D) and they were stated in the brochures as well. May be specifications change from country to country...

I got my Stilo MW 1.9 jtd Actual on September 2003 and it was equiped with puddle lights & 12 v socket in the boot.

It is possible that internals differ from country to country. For instance in Slovenia you can only buy Stilo Actual with ordinary and Stilo Dynamic with dual-zone aircondition, in Italy I was told you receive all Stilos with ordinary aircondition but you can pay extra for dual-zone clima also if you buy Stilo actual.
