General A Dynamic new driver....

OK, here I am, another new forum member who's just taken the plunge and bought a Stilo 1.6 Dynamic (Sep 2002). Looked at the forum a bit before buying and still went for it! Tried a number of different one's before making the final choice. Fingers crossed now I suppose....

What I need at this stage of my forum membership is a bit of reassurance.... please?:I

You made a good choice buying the 3d Stilo. Keep your fingers crossed if you want but keep your eyes open as well to see the looks of the people stearing at your car.
What made you go for it even after you read the complains in this forum??

The heart often rules the head We looked at Toyota, MG, Mazda but kept coming back to it. We just think it looks nice (and it's a 5 door) . Any car that lets you convert the passenger seat into a table must be good. Mind you, what happens to the passenger in that situation I'm not sure....

I can relate to your train of thought re the Stilo, 'should I or I should I not??'. Kept thinking about it, espec after seeing so many Focuses on the road, just thought what the hell go for it. May not quite be best car all round it its class(so the critics say anyway), but no doubting in my mind its most unique if not the best looking car for sure, at a price that u just cant beat. Had my Dynamic a few days and apart from a squeaking clutch and the engine needing to smooth out a bit, fingers crossed no probs as yet. Doesnt half shift thats for sure(ins grp 7?? ).
Anyway good luck to us both, and remember u only live once...

Good choice Baldybloke i to have a 1.6 dynamic 5 door. Ive had a week now and every time i drive it i find a smile on my face. All my friends say it looks smart and different like bosie said thought about a focus but everyones got one. driving down the road today and saw another stilo the bloke flashed his light and gave a thumbs up, dont think you would see focus drivers doing that to each other.

Had our Dynamic 1.6 (march 02) for two weeks now, amazing car to drive and all the toys it includes are ace. Do have an issue though and thats the computer saying there is always a fault on one of many sensor, says abs/asr failed, faul sensor failed, air bag failed and engine problem on it this past week. Will be going back in soon to find out whats what. But besides that the car drives good

That's good - I knew that the forum shouldn't just be for people whingeing!

Since signing on the dotted line, haven't seen any other Stilo's... which is a cool.

As someone said above, you only live once - which might explain some of my previous cars... Alfa GTV, Lotus Elan, Marlin Raadster(what ??)

Quietly excited now.....

From one baldy bloke to another...

Good choice with the Stilo. I too have had a variety of previous cars (Jag XJ, Golf GTi, etc) and think that the Stilo is a cracker. I love the look of the 3 door and the fact that there are almost none on the roads. I am a coach driver so driving all the time and I'm lucky to see more than two or three a week.

Had a couple of real minor issues but the dealer's sorted them all under warranty. Ignore those on here who relly moan about them - There are bad cars of every make and model.
