I need help. I have been getting this error (P0443) for the last 2-3 weeks. At first I was able to clear it with FES and it was coming back a couple of days later. Now FES says it's fatal and although I clear it, it comes back immidiately.
The ECU doesn't get a signal from the Evap sensor.
Does anyone know where this sensor is and how can I check it? I believe it's near the map sensor on the top left part of the engine but I can't figure out which one is exactly.
Anyone had that kind of error in the past? Tried the search option in the forum but it seems this is not a very common error code.

Thanx in advance guys...

1.6 petrol - 2001

Thanks mate. I'll see what I can do on the weekend. Let's hope it's something in the engine bay area and not on the petrol tank...

i took a look on eper and couldnt find the canister but im almost certain the stilo has one... ill try to get a pic tomorrow at work but im not promising! iirc its *somewhere* around the gearbox area but im not certain... god knows if it has electrics rigged up though

Thanks! I also tried looking in the eper but couldn't find anything.
Autodata says that the EVAP valve is the red circled thing on the pic but I am suspecting a connector (blue circle).
The problem seems to be electrical and not a real problem with the valve. I sprayed it with some contact cleaner and bend a little the two pins of the connector in order to make harder contact.
When I decided to erase the fault and do a reset of the ECU via FES, I accidentaly stepped on a piece of dog**** on the road so I had to return upstairs in order to change shoes! lol
I 'll finish the job after lunch...

I cleaned the connector and I erased the fault via FES. I erased it a couple of times because it kept reappearing immidiately. The next day, Sunday, I got the error again while driving...
Anyway, the point is that on Tuesday it decided to go off and I haven't got the error appearing since then, even though I drove the car quite a bit.
Sometimes I just can't understand that car at all...
Fingers crossed now!
