I have 2002 02 plate 3 dr stilo in Sassi grey. Its well looked after as I plan to keep it for a good few years yet. Its done 31000 miles by the way!
Anyway I was just wondering on how you guys are finding the wearability of your cars.
The paintwork on mine around the front wheel arch right at the bottom of the sill is looking abit worn and wondered if this was common and what to do about it. Is it worth having it touched up????Obviously this is just general wear and FIAT will laugh if I try and get that done under warranty!
Also I have quite a few small stone chips/tiny marks (most will polish out)along the drivers side lower half - under the bump srtip again is this common?

Car still looks the dogs b##lo#s though!

Just wanted to find out what your oppinions are on your Stilo and whether you think it will stand the test of time?

Thanks

Its an interesting one. My 03 Plate with 36k now. I drive an unreal mileage. Its like going up so quick - is doing OK.

Pass seat - sagging. Just had this repaired under warranty. Heard similar complaints from FF owners so dont know how long this will last.

Side rubbing strip driver side - constantly pops off at one side - irritating.

Front glass steaming up.

Thats it for now I think.

My front bumper is peppered with stonechips & the drivers door has a cuople of deep scratched in it (needs repainting) which is a job for me to do in the summer. Mine's an 02 plate with 23000. No problems with the seats though & I've had the heated seats on a lot during the winter.

Well i've just broke the first 1000 miles on mine and appart from minor niggles, the car is amazing. (y) Engine is feeling great, getting a little more playful now that its been run in a little. Havent had any neds trying to race me cos theyre to busy drooling at it :) Favourite thing about the car is the growl the engine has up around the 3-4k rpm range on the motorway. Sounds badass!

its being looked after at the moment (washed every weeked) to keep it nice and shiny, althought the little chav at the car wash didnt do me alloys properly this time. No tip for him next week.

I havent met one person who hasnt said the car is anything but amazing looking, it definitley looks like nothing else.

Funny thing tho before i got my stilo (about 4 weeks ago) i saw hardly any on the road, now i am spotitng at least another 1 or 2 every day could it be our baby's are becoming popular with the mass public? :(

I've got a couple of stone chips on my front bumper too; maybe the pain is a little crap on the front bumper?????

Also, now that we're on the subject, how sagging do these seats have to get before you can have them done under warranty?; on my drivers seat, the material seems kind of loose and has shaped into a little "mountain" in the middle, i've got my first check in bout 5000km, should i ask them to get it done??? I'm just afraid that the'll just say it's normal or something like that.
To those people who have had it fixed; Does it stay fixed or will it go loose again in anothr 3000 km like they did before???

Thanx 4 any info

I've had my 54 plate since October 2004 and it's better than it was when it was new, but thats because i've had the tiny little chips and scratches that you get done by Fiat... :)
Mind you, i have only done 2000 miles from new in the 6 months i've had it and i do intend to get every little chip done when they acumulate..
A year or two down the line when i come to sell the car I want it to still be perfect and it will be, so anyone who wants a REALLY low mileage Abarth in perfect condition for a few hundred quid over trade in price had better get their names down for when i do part with it ;)

hehe before i got mine, never saw one - that was part of the appeal - now they are everywhere!!!!! (y)

Mines an 02 plate, done just over 27k, but i' ve never had any major problems, the only thing was that the engine sensors, somehow were slightly out - so sometimes the engine managment would think there is a problem, and not want to start!!!! One trip to the garage though, and was all good ;)

Ive got a 53 plate (september 2003) which has done now just over 20k, i tend to keep the car for about 2 years and i keep it in imaculate condition (Washed 2/3times a week and valted inside 1 a week :) keeps that lovely murano blue glowing in the sun!), ive had the bonnet re-sprayed already because the stone chips were building up! Otherwise all is in top condition.. had the 17" claws put on and all the rub strip and grilles colour coded which looks top notch; next will be the exhaust and induction kit which ive nearly save enough for now and then will be the front splitter and and sideskirts; then lowering springs! Going to self service it tomorra as i fink it needs it and service ent due at fiat garage till end of september and havent got that kinda £££ to spring out on it now! but i have noticed little like stone chips all the bottom of the sides; but these will be hiden by the sideskirt when i can afford them, its not that drastic though bearly visable unless you get seriously close to it! The only other bug i have is the fiat badge on the rear has faded in the sun i suppose and will have to come off dont know if to replace it or not, im going to leave the stilo badge on though hasnt faded and i shouldnt think will either with the plastic chrome finish!

@KoA - Hmm... sounds good mate! I might be intrested then, i really wanted an abarth when i brought my 1.8 but being only 19 and i also just couldnt justify paying the insane insurance quotes!

Well i'll keep you in mind when the times comes to part with it ( brings a lump to my throat when i think about it  ) I'll let you have 1st refusal if your still interested at the time ;)
What i'll do is get a trade in price against a new one and then let it go for a little bit more to someone who can give it a good home... I hate the thought of trading it in and all those things i have done to keep it nice, go to waste on someone who don't appreciate it... That way i'm happy about selling it and whoever buys it gets a bargain at just over trade price :)

My 03 black stilo with 20k on the clock has no frontal chips what so ever.... because it was resprayed! there are some chips on the rear quarter passenger side that bug me but being clack, easy to cover up. a couple of scratches on the roof- dont know how they got there but have an idea. One trolly ding in back drivers wing, its hardley noticeable but its there and cheapest quote to repair was £180 so its staying there.

Mines a 52 with 67k on it, paintwork (black) is ok better than previous fiats but still not a great finish. Interior has worn well, although drivers seat is becoming more incomfortable.

Well personally I wouldn't think it was normal to do that so soon, My marea has over 100k miles on it and there is no sagging at all and my G40 is 13 years old with 121k miles on it and the seat is like new (still the original one too)

Sorry for going off topic.
