Hi my engine light came on. When we run the diagnostics
It quoted code PO101 and the car was saying to check engine. Any ideas what it could be?

Is this a problem anything to do with the ignition ?

No, the MAF Sensor needs replacing, simple job, could do it yourself.

The dealership where I bought this car has booked
my car into the garage they use. Their mechanic
has told them that the sensor just needs cleaning .
Surely if the light still comes back on after a time
the sensor needs replacing?

Problem with my Stilo

Hey there
Can anyone help me pls?
Had MAF sensor changed on car, cos engine
light was on. All till you turn the damn thing off
and start it again and the engine light comes
back on.
Any suggestions?

if you unplug it does performance change for better/worse?

Haven't tried to unplug it. But there is no
difference in performance in the car.

If the MAF is faulty and you unplug it performance is usually better.

If the MAF is 100% and you unplug it performance is usually slightly worse.

See my maf thread. If its faulty then unplugging will either make no difference or a alight improvement. A new/working maf will make a noticeable difference.

the 1.6 Stilo does not have a MAF sensor, just a MAP sensor (combination with intake air temperature sensor).

this was not my original post it was Shazza's i think mods combined with an older thread but omitted my reply which is now showing as OP

were talking about shazza's MAF as its a diesel NOT my 1.6 petrol

Thanks for all the advice. Have to speak to mechanic
tomorrow and will mention this to him.
