hey guys,
changed the clutch on the JTD today, but when i go to bleed the clutch it's not holding pressure,

all i have on mine is a rubber cap covering the bleed nipple, but even that is leaking,

can someone supply me with some images so i can see where it's went wrong?

Sorry, should of mentioned that it's for the 115, just can't get a pedal at all,

If the pedal is soft or spongy you have air in the system, it needs bleeding.

2C = Bleed valve(nipple) on the actuator.

cheers, all I have is the bleed nipple and a rubber cap, which when the pedal is pressed is popping off, so I can't get a pedal due to fluid loss

yeah it's a fixed nipple, hose wasn't disconnected when I changed the clutch,

all that is there is a rubber boot over the nipple, so I should be looking for a clip? any images as to what it should look like on the car

JTD 115bhp has a concentric slave cylinder combined with the release bearing. If you didn't disconnect the hose, you obviously didn't fit a new release bearing. :nono:

To bleed it, remove the rubber cover over the bleed nipple. Do not try to turn the bleed nipple, it's part of the cylinder and will break off if you turn it.

There's a wire clip that holds the hose into the pipe that protrudes through the gearbox. Pull the clip up and then pull the hose out about 5 - 10mm only.

Remove the combined brake/clutch fluid resevoir lid and fluid should come out of the nipple under gravity. When no further air bubbles come out, push the hose back in and refit the clip.

It will look similar to, but not exactly the same as this diagram.

cheers dav, I've got clip 1, but its the actual nipple that's releasing the pressure

The end of the hose seals the nipple once it's fully pushed in, I believe there are 2 "O" rings on the hose. Perhaps one or both of the "O" rings are faulty or missing, or the hose is not pushed in far enough to seal it.

cheers dav, on the where i insert the clip it all lines up perfectly, (there is a locating pin on the pipe) and i get the locking pin in fully, yet it still won't seal

new slave cylinder is on order, should be delivered tomorrow, so it will be getting installed and then hopefully i get no more hassle with this issue,

Second update, car is back on the road, when I went to the car this morning, I looked at the clip that was mentioned above And it wasn't sitting down fully, so the slave cylinder wasn't sealed, within 10 mins I had the issue fixed, thank god!!!!
