Hey, got a 3dr 02 1.6 active aircon stilo, but got a bit of a niggle.....from the rear right side of the car comes a strange sqeeky noise when goin over bumps in the road, i've spent ages looking around the interior of the car for any loose parts causing the sqeek but im starting to think its something a tad more complex than meerly a loose nut or bolt. Its something i really want to get sorted as its spoiling an otherwise great car and playing the radio just to drown out the noise is gettin rather tedious. Any suggestions would be great, so i've got a bit more info when I take it down my dealer.
cheers.

Have you noticed if the noise goes away when it is damp? My front offside bushes graunch over speed bumps when it has been dry for a while. This might be relieved by some simple rubber lubricant on the bush (make up your own joke!) Otherwise, I had a persistent squeak form my front nearside, which was initially diagnosed by my friendly local dealer as a worm wishbone, but actually turned out to be a defective damper. That was quite a loud metallic sort of squeak, rather than the deeper grauchy squeak of the bushes. I think they call it "character"...

Definitely sounds like the bushes need a spot of lube - mine is starting to do the same again (been in 3 times in 18 months and seems like a weak spot on the Stilo as never had this with other cars). I'd guess the salt on the roads over the winter has contributed to the squeak.
