Im looking to replace my multipla with another fiat
I have looked at croma (too much vauxhall saab stuff) idea (too small) doblo (too much van like) ulysse (too expensive to run) punto or grande punto (too small) so my mind is set to a stilo multivagon
But was it ever made with the 150 bhp diesel engine?
Had a look on ebay and i could only find one 3 door version with that particular engine
And what else should i look out for in this cars?
Many thanks in advance for answers

No in a word, Best you will get is the 1.9 120bhp i think. With a remap you might get somewhere near that though.
But having said that i aways thought the 115bhp multiwagon was plenty quick enough though.

Thanks guys
I drive a multipla 110 jtd with a tuning box that gives me 30 bhp more and thats quick enough, many boy racers wont beleive how fast it goes when i overtake them!
Ill have to look around and see what i can find...

i have a stilo MW 115jtd. Everyone is suprised how quick it goes.. would highly recommend it. Mine is a stock lower model without toys but its just a workhorse really.

From what i've read remaps get you around 30hp's extra and torques to match.. There are a few mjtd MW's around but not alot - not sure on the power figures on them though.

edit: quick google on the topic shows it has 148hp ;) so that with a remap would be pretty damn nippy

and here is one.. they are only on the the very late ones and are nearly always overpriced..

Fiat and alfa jtd and multijet engines are brilliant!
I have checked and the only ever made the 3 door version with the 150 bhp multijet engine and it was branded sporting
So no multiwagon with that engine! :(
My only options now are either a stilo 115 jtd mw or a alfa 156 sportwagon multijet 150
Only thing is that alfa has smaller boot than stilo so not easy choice...

Well the jtd had 115bhp the multijet with 120bhp so remapped you should see nearly alfa power out of both of them. The multijet is after 06/56 i think so later ones but worth paying the bit extra for as they had different grill dials and bits and pieces.

Think if it was me i would have the stilo again.

Heh heh what a choice 156SW or Stilo MW
Having owned both I think I can offer a few comments
As a drivers car handling performance driver focus etc the 156 is a much better car, its also a stunning looking car (in my opinion) inside and out.It is also a couple of hundred kilos lighter (my V6 156 was only 20kgs heavier than my 3dr stilo)

The Stilo will be sturdier and more reliable and cheaper to run insure etc and possibly better equipped, but not as sporting

You can map the 115 stilo to 150 and I'm sure you can get good gains from the 120 too, the 150 is good for 190 plus (equal to my 24v 2.5V6 Alfa)

One option is to find out what the physical difference is between the 120 and 150 or is it just the map? What about a 120 with a knackered motor and put a 150 Mj in it?

I'm pretty sure I saw someone post that a Stilo Multiwagon had been produced with a 150bhp lump in it, photo's too.

I'll try and find it but don't hold your breath FF hasn't been playing very nicely since about 4:30 this morning.

Edit.
Thats a good question Cledan. What is the difference between the 120 and the 150 engines? I think the 120 is 8v and the 150 is 16v but not sure.

Pretty sure the 120 is also a 16v as I've looked at the figures and the 120 has less torque than the 115 and of course its called a multijet!!!

I thought it could be size of turbo? Or injector size? As looking at people doing remaps they give a lower final output where the initial output is lower, if it was just the map the highest figure would be available across the range- I think

I'm pretty sure the turbo is also different on the 120 8v I think its a gt1749mv turbine and manifold in 1 piece.id expect injectors and rail pressure better than 115.
Looked up a couple of Astra Cdti 8v mapped, 162Bhp+265ft/lbs
http://www.astraownersnetwork.co.uk/showthread.php?106029-Astra-SRI-1-9-CDTI-8v-Results
And 167bhp+257ft/lbs
http://www.astraownersnetwork.co.uk/showthread.php?75318-1-9CDTi-8V-IPF-mapped
And someone boxed was 158bhp+288ft/lbs
257ft/lbs=348nm
288ft/lbs=390nm
I would expect less than this but has plenty of potential in 120 version

It's deffinately 8v multijet
18:1 cr
120 bhp
255nm
Euro 4
5 speed
11.3sec to 62(in multiwagon)
148g/km
50.4mpg combined

Ah so mjet refers to the injection system, I'd always taken it to be multi valve, hence the extra 5bhp over a jtd.

An Alfa 156 sw weighs 1355kg against the stilo mw being 1410kg
The Alfa also does 0-62 in 9.7 so faster than the stilo.

As I stated earlier it comes down to practicality (Stilo) or driver appeal (156) But you will not run a 156 for the same amount of cash as a Stilo

Think you will find the 0-62 for a alfa 156 1.9jtd 115bhp 8v is 10.7 secs 1335kgs kerb weight, the 156 1.9jtd multijet 150bhp 16v is 9.5 secs 1355kgs kerb weight.

So if you compare like for like either the 115/120bhp stilo multiwagon to the 115bhp 156 the times are that the stilo at 11.3 is 0.6 sec's behind so real world nowt to worry about.

By going for a 150bhp alfa you will gain nearly 2 secs on the 0-62 but remap the stilo then i would say they would be very comparible.

So for my money i would have the stilo over the alfa and enjoy the fact knowing that there are far less stilo mw's on the road than 156's and i bet it will be a darn sight more reliable to boot and having a bigger boot too.

Oh and the 156 is worse on the emissions so will be more to tax per year too, the stilo being 148g/km as the 156 being 160g/km 115bhp the 150bhp 161g/km

thanks for all the info guys(y)
yes stilo is cheaper but basically engine is same as alfa
the 156 is defo more sporty to drive and with the right colour and leather combination would be just stunning:D
i had a 156 v6 2 years ago and it was the best car i ever owned:slayer:
to be honest im strugling to find a good spec stilo close to were i live
i cannot think myself to buy the abarth as way too expensive and i dont really like basic spec model like active...:bang:
i have found this close too me

yes i know is a croma:confused: but im gonna test drive it and see what is like as i never drove one but im still hunting for the right stilo

I chose a stilo this time as I had always thought they were under rated and rare cars. The spec on mine is astounding and after 18 months of ownership it only let me down a couple of weeks ago, which was a blocked stuck open Egr, which cost nothing to fix.
The 156 was always needing something, and usually pricey, it was also the most addictive car I've ever owned.
The stilo is possibly the most effective car I've owned, and the best equipped, cruise, leather, climate etc

I chose the Fiat this time and am very pleased with it, but still hanker for another AR

I think if you have found the right car in the spec you like you will travel for it. I have bought from Leicester and near gatwick airport and bristol which is the nearest so far.
My mum bought a little rover 100 from up near selby and that was from somerset we drove from!!
