I changed my brake pads yesterday on my 2002 Stilo Abarth and thought the following information might be useful to those of you trying to avoid silly Fiat dealer bills. Fiat pads work out at about £115 for both sets, I bought my pads from EBC brakes direct, £46.48 including delivery. Part numbers DP1382 & DP 1381. Ordered Sunday evening on-line, received Tuesday morning. Front pads are easy to change. Rear pads are not so easy. The piston needs to be screwed in to allow the new pads to fit. I made up a special tool to fit the piston which allows a socket to be used. I believe there is a tool available to buy. You have to apply some reasonable pressure to the piston and rotate it at the same time, clockwise on the offside caliper & anticlock on the nearside caliper. Without the tool this would be very difficult. It is also advisable to slacken off the hand brake cables at the adjuster behind the handbrake lever, and then retension once the new pads are fitted.
Hope this helps
