5 yes count em 5 Cars got broken into in the private carpark out side my house last night :( - that about half of them, mine was left alone and so was my Mrs's Punto.

So as you can imagine I am panicing a little, I would like to upgrade the security on my beloved (the car not the Mrs - hehe).

Because I have the Remote locking on my key which is all ready big I dont really want a alarm key fob as well sooo First question - is the Fiat alarm in the brio catalogue any good ? and does anyone know what it will cost to have it fitted ? - second is there anything on the market that will work with my existing key remote?

Bo :bang:

Mine is excellent, but it was factory fitted optional extra, it goes off at the slightest movement, sometimes anoying but i would rather know it's safe.

I had the one out of the brio catalogue fitted shortly after I bought my car. It works fine, goes off as soon as you open the door & it's bloody loud. Cost me £226 inc VAT but they quoted me the wrong price as they'd never done one before I think they said it'd be around £250 usually.

i had my car broke into on tuesday, had the stero and cds taken . And I am looking at getting a alarm fitted as well, I have been qouted by a local company for £165 for a cat 1 and tied into my door thob. so i would look around before buying it from fiat etc first

Ok so its a bit of a 50/50 split here
I think we have different factory fitted Alarms.. There's a few to choose from, mine was ordered when i ordered my car so im not too sure which one it is from the Brio book.

That sounds like a good deal - Is that fitted ? - I seem to be looking at £280.00 ish

I went to Thames Fiat this morning, they were really not interested - I am now ringing about to see whats what.

i've fitted the brio alarm myself, but i think you need fiat to turn on things in the car's cpu!

That's right they have to download the rolling codes into the system for which they charge extra b*****ds! :)

I was told by my local dealer they're the same if it's the one that works from the original key fob.

Yeah but the one which works from the original fob is the same as the factory fit one. Or that's what I've been told. (y)
Cheers Ben, at least i know now...
How come the other guys is so crap then ?
Mine will go off if a lorry drives too close and makes the car shake, I have tried jackin the car up and it goes off if the car lifts more than an inch... it seems perfectly fine to me.

Not sure if FIAT treat their alarms like their CD Changers (i.e. have custom firmware) but they tend to use Meta alarms so it may be worth finding a Meta dealer and asking them what will/won't link into a Stilo's existing system.
