Hi guys. Just bouth a remote central locking kit for my 2002 stilo. There are 3 cables i would have to find in the ECU. They are locking, unlocking and the central lock steering cable. Anybody who knows what colour they are?

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

Stilo door locks are controlled by a Body Computer ECU and individual ECUs inside each door. Unless you have bought a C/L kit designed specifically for a Stilo, it's unlikely to work.

if your remote central locking kit is a standard kit you could mount 1 actuator in the drivers door connected to the bar of the door pin.
This way you will activate the original central locking with the remote control of the kit.

It is not a standard kit so i suppose it doesnt work. I would need to find the locking and unlocking and steering cables from the ecu to even try. I only have one key to my car and it hasnt got a remote. I heard some rumours that all stilos have one key with remote and a spare key without. Is that so?

AFAIK all Stilos come with remote locking, if you can get a working key from eBay (less than £5) and the immobiliser code from Fiat (£40 IIRC) you can pay a lock specialist (think I paid about £15 or so?) to programme the key to your car and switch the key blades and immobiliser chips, provided everything required on the car works of course. That or pay Fiat something like £200 :D.

Nope that won't work as the door locks on the car are controlled by the canbus system, not by the up down movement of the locks, hence why pushing down the lock nipple on the door won't lock the others, only hitting the button on the drivers door will.

In the UK yes, but op isn't in the UK so it is possible they haven't got rcl.

Ok, and I am from Finland and I do think that all stilos here does not have a remote locking. I guess I just have to forget about that then:(

i just tested this, you are right about the nipple not activating the central locking.
However it is possible to use the contacts of the locking/unlocking button on the door panel for locking and unlocking the Stilo - you just have to find out how to connect the wiring of the aftermarket kit to the circuit board of the door panel switch (close a contact for opening + closing - you might use one or two extra relays for this)
For someone with electronics/electric knowledge that should be no problem.

Ok. I have a pdf file for an aftermarket remote kit witch is meant for stilos, but it does not need the same cables as my kit needs. There should be a locking, unlocking and a steering cable somwhere in the ecu, but with the billion cables it is hard to find the colour of those three...

 But remember, these installation instructions are not from the same kit that i have. I cant find all the cables I need from these instructions.

i need the schematic diagram of the kit you have to be able to find out if it can be connected to the Stilo for activating the central locking...

There isnt any digram for it. It only needs 5 cables, ground, +12V, locking, unlocking and steering. the manual only says that you have to find these cables in the car and attach them to each other. It is pretty much the same as in the PDF i posted earlier, but int that manual the locking/unlocking cable is the same, and in mine they are 2 different cables. you can find the stilo Elearn here on fiatforum, there is pretty much all schematics for the car but i couldnt find out witch pin in the ECU means what, neither what colour the cables are for the functions in the car.

there are several ways to send the signals for opening and closing , you have to know what these 3 cables actually do.
they can be switched contacts without any voltage on them, they can be switching to power or to ground, they can switch to different resistor values like the open-close button on the door panel....
if there isn't even a decent schematic diagram with your kit i doubt it will ever work on a Stilo - without basic information it is very difficult to give good support....
