Re: Ipod / Connect Nav+ connection

Hey Chris, where did you buy all the equipment from????
I'm going over to england in the summer and i'd rather get it where you got it (then i can be sure it'll work) rather than driving all the way to the south of Spain, getting back and finding out that the software hasn't been updated yet!!!!

Re: Ipod / Connect Nav+ connection

(Sigh) more issues .... the code is available on http://support.dension.com/beta, the beta forums are on http://support.dension.com/cf

As directed I placed the code and the "update" file onto the ipod .... I've used this method to sucessfully update the connector before - albeit to code which doesn't support the ConnectNav+!!

Anyway, with all files in place the connector will not recognise this new firmware revision. From the beta forum's it's clear that I'm not the only one with this problem, so it should get sorted out soon.

Again - I'll keep you posted.
Chris

StiloMultiJet - you asked where I bought it from, I got it online from these guys.... www.ihavetohave.it (contact's name is David), and I bought the Dension IceLink Plus connector for the Fiat Blaupunkt(http://www.dension.com/icelink_info.htm).

Re: Ipod / Connect Nav+ connection

Does that mean it has worked for some people and not for others??? How is that possible???
Also, how do i know what generation i-pod i have??? It hasn't got the buttons at the top (they're on the wheel), but does that make it a 3rd or 4th generation i-pod.

Thanx a bunch for allthe info!!!

Re: Ipod / Connect Nav+ connection

If the buttons are on the wheel then you have a 4th gen ipod. Same as me.

lardarse - let me know how you get on ... at the end of the day all I want is the ipod connected, I don't care what's used to get it going!

Re: Ipod / Connect Nav+ connection

Hi

This is what I took delivery of 10 mins ago...

Thanks to your help it was fitted (of sorts) in about 2 mins.

I powewred up and thinks looked very good indeed, the CDC option was now in black (wheras previously it had been greyed out) and when selected it said it was "scanning CDC".

Meanwhile at the other end the ipod was charging up nicely.

Then the bad news, it told me there were no CDs present

Im back in the house now as there is a slim chance it could be my fault

It looks as though it works via the playlists - a feature of the ipod Ive never really used so Im currently setting up 2 playlists then Im back out to try again.

For information its a 4.5 gen ipod photo

No its not working at the mo

That said it may not be compatible - it turns out the sat nav+ is made by Micky Mouse or some such. HOWEVER "normal" fiat stereos are made by Blaupunkt and as such are probably more likely to actually work.

If you are interested make me an offer

Re: Ipod / Connect Nav+ connection

hi
the factory fit stereos are Visteon not blaupunkt,
they just have been adapted to take blaupunkt cd changers

did you take the fuse out of the unit?
(that or disconnect car the battery)
as you need to do this for the "changer" to be seen?

Hi just tried it again without the fuse and no apparent difference

It looks as though the unit has been seen as its now possible toselect the CDC and it "looks" for cds.

Re: Ipod / Connect Nav+ connection

so its sees the ipod and charges it (cdc) but does not see any of the cds
(playlists on the ipod)

i have just phone blupunkt hotline to ask if it is compatible with the stilo
and they say that they have had alot of problems with it and have taken it of sale
and they are going to redesign it and release it again, they could not tell me
any more info to do with the stilo.

When I rag the hotline they refused to discuss it!!

As soon as they found out my head unit was not a BADGED blaupunkt they couldnt get off the line fast enough .

Re: Ipod / Connect Nav+ connection

that's weird, they were very polite, and offered up all the info they could

as it does not see your playlists could you get a refund on the adapter?

how much did you pay for it? as i might be interested
to try it in my standard CD headunit

Re: Ipod / Connect Nav+ connection

cheers for that, too much for me to take a chance, best bet
is to ask for a refund saying that blaupunkt have had a lot of problems
with them and are removing them from sale and then at least you get all
of your money back
