can anyone tell me are there 1 or 2 rings are between the top mount and the lower mount

Could you be a bit more specific, what mounts are you refering to?

top and lower mounts on front suspension

between 5 and 10

Item 10 is the ring, item 5 is the top pad. There should be a bearing in item 10 that allows the strut to turn when steering.

thanks bought new top and lower mounts and got bearing with the 2 of them

There should be 1 bearing between the top and bottom rubber mountings. The bearing consists of 2 rings with rollers between them. The bearing clips onto the lower mounting and must be fitted the correct way up as in this diagram.
