Hi
I'm about to install my JBL GTO 4000 amplifier which is 600W max output in the boot of my stilo and I really can't be arsed messing around getting the power cable to my battery. Some people have used the socket in the boot and other people are saying no you'll set fire to your car or you'll blow fuses every 10 seconds.
Who has actually tried it with a similar amp to mine and what happens? Does it run fine? Also did you use just the cars standard fuse? The socket states it can handle 180W max but I have no idea what input my amp needs, anyone know?
Surely If the amp is too powerful for the socket it will just keep blowing fuses which prevents damaging the cars electrics or over heating the wire.
Thanks
