done the egr clean as shown in the link on this forum, but it mentions gaskets (plural), i only had one on the exhaust side at the bottom, none between the valve and the body, or the 2 parts of the valve. Should there be more than one? Thanks.

Yes there should be a gasket each side of the EGR. Not having one may cause leaks and loss of boost.
