Nope - it is a quirk of the system.

Hopefully further upgrades from 9.8 will cure this - shall we all hold our breath?

I suppose so - I tend to listen to Chris Moyles on R1 in the morning commute, and on way home, will select one CD which lasts length of the journey.

BUT it is annoying.

Can't beat a bit of moylesy to make you grin during the morning run to work. my work is just down the road so I don't bother switching the radio on, but boy do I miss him
