Can someone help me out since i cannot find it on elearn what is the max front wear on the discs? i found on the brembo site the max TH is 22 mm and min 20.2 mm can someone confirm this? my front discs have a wear of about 20 but it doesnt seem their that worn out to be replaced.

btw im never putting brembo again they wear very unevenly on the discs and found out their not cast iron but some alloy mix. I got fiat original front discs and had them drilled and wear out much more evenly across the disc surface.

I get over 70,000 miles to a set of brake pads so I just fit new discs too while I have the tools out. (y) Works out at around every 3 years.

Then the pads & discs can work together in an even & most efficient kind of way, I do this with all 4 of our cars.

Putting new pads on old discs for me personally isnt wise, takes ages to get full efficiency back.

Ffoxy i change pads about every 6-7,000 klm aka 6 months and discs about every 10-12,000 about once a year, we have alot more traffic and junctions here so breaking is alot heavier than uk open roads. THe usual wear rate is about 2 sets of front pads till the disk wears out. Then for the back the disc replacement is usually 2 sets of front brake discs for one rear.

This subject can open up a huge debate, but in my 40 years of driving I found its not the traffic that causes brake wear but how we drive in the traffic. In the interests of economy I plan my route when I am driving to see if I can avoid brake use at all on a trip by lifting off early & not accelerating to a point I have to brake, like in traffic & approaching bends etc. Where I live has few "open roads" as such, these days 95% of my driving is urban rather than Motorway, dual carriageway, A roads etc.
I owned my previous car (a 1.9 MJet Grande Punto, remapped to around 194 Bhp with 263 ft ilbs of torque) for 3 years, before I had it the car was an ex-demonstrator so I have no idea how it was used before I got it at 6 months old... but I sold it at 73,000 miles with almost half the original pads still in the calipers using my method. (y) Try my method, it saves on fuel, tyre & brake wear & honestly it takes no longer to get where you're going :D

i dont disagree its all about driver style driving. i am a bit above average since i still have my racing blood still in me. But due to officially having the most expensive petrol in all of europe i am trying to go alot smoother and breaking less hard for sake of petrol and wear and tear. So my estimates are for the average to above average driver.

:) I still have my racing blood too! I recently sold on my Suzuki SV1000S Motorbike. I've just seen too many dead & injured through road racing...

Anyway... just change the discs & pads & spend money... it's all good for the economy (but not the wallet)

i dont disagree i should change them but with the economy hitting very hard its gonna cost me about 200 for fiat original discs and another 50 to drill them. then its another 50 for pads. 23 VAT is really tough. THank god i have a car lift at work so i do everything myself for now on thankfully for elearn also i recently changed my gearbox and clutch myself.
