Has anyone swapped the petrol engine in The Stilo Abarth for a JTD? I have had my Abarth from new (02) and it's only done 40000 miles. Its like new, but at 17mpg it's painful. I am loath to part with it. So was wondering if anyone out there had done this conversion.

simple solution....sell it and buy a JTD....could even sell it, chuck in a little on top and get an Mjet then remap it....hey presto fater than the abarth and economy to boot!

primary reason why not to do it is cost...pretty much all the running gear would need to be swapped and ecus and body computers...ud have to buy a whole donor jtd!

how much are you asking for the abarth engine?

Michael, unless you absolutely rag it at every opportunity, at 17mpg there must be something wrong with your engine. I get 28-29 urban use and lower 30s on a run...

I will hopefully be going on to get 300 miles out of one tank this month, now that is amazing Stu say your jealous lol

deffinatly something wrong there i'ld say? i can get high 30's doing a steady 60? ( with my new cruise control switch )
