If I recall correctly, offical combined is 28.8mpg which is about right, because thats generally what I get combined. If you boot it all the time, sub 20mpg and no license which makes for great economy.

Would it pass an MOT with no cat?

The exhaust mentioned is a cat back system which is irrelevant on the stilo as it has 3 of the blighters. If you take the last 2 out (1's in the centre section the other is in the backbox) & leave the downpipe alone the ECU should be clever enough to sort it out thus passing an MOT. Stu thats a terrible figure I've a particularly heavy foot & I still manage 26-27mpg.

Go for the supersprint m8 it's expensive but it's seriously cool & taking 2 of those damned cats off should make a vast improvement in both performance & economy. (y)
Problem is, the supersprint is so overpriced that it kinda counteracts any savings you MAY recoup in economy.
I average about 18.2 mpg in mine but i only do town driving with the odd DCway here and there. I have tried being less heavy footed but its damn boring and it made very little difference, if i go really carefull I can get it up to about 19 or 20 mpg so i would rather have a bit of fun.

Koa who cares about economy so long as it goes faster & sounds better? (y)
And they are the two main reasons we bought an Abarth for ;)

I've never been one for looking at things in the long term, i just live for the moment and b******s to the cost of it.
Admittedely it would be nice to have better economy but if i was bothered by it, i would not have got this car.

I put £25 of petrol in the car every 2 weeks and get about 150-200 miles out of it ( something like that, not too bothered so i don't keep count ) and when i put the petrol in I don't begrudge it like i would in a boring car like my old focus, I actually think "YAY another couple of weeks driving around in this gorgeous car". I drive out the garage thinking OK lets see if I can make this last a bit longer and within a minute or two i've forgton about economy and im having some fun instead ;)

I get to have just as much fun on backroads, and i still get 40mpg
yes you probably do get a lot of fun out of it on backroads, but just as much ?
Surely you can't say you wouldn't have more fun with 178 bhp underneath your right foot ;)
hmmm i think im in need of that angel tuning soon :)

Whats the official combined for the Abarth? I bet its like 38mpg or such!

Remember quoted figured by manufacturers are often higher than you'll typically get!

I wish! lol :D but then thats the price you pay for owning a powerfull car.
