Cleaned my MAF this morning, no problem... but how the hell do you get to the bolt to get the MAP sensor out? Got the right bit, but there's just no room?

You deffinately need to completely remove the EGR if you want to clean it properly.

How to remove and replace your MAP Sensor in less than 2 minutes, and I have big hands.

Aahhh!
I thought it had a security torq bolt on it like the MAF!
That makes it easier... I'll have to go but some hex keys with ball ends - and idea what size it is? I have just bought an offset ratchet handle screwdriver that I could use the bits with, but I guess it'll be much easier with a simple ball ended allen key...

You gonna do the same to show us how to clean the EGR now?

OK... quick report on first findings since cleaning...
My daily trip to work is 33 miles, half motorway. I usually return 46-48mpg, depending on how many traffic lights I get stuck at. My best ever was 49.9, that was a very clear run.
This morning having cleaned the MAP, I got 49.9 after being stopped at every single traffic light!
To back this up, the mpg reading is usually on 49-50 as I leave the motorway. This morning it was 54. And the first three or four miles of motorway is all uphill, and the instant mpg reading is usually high thirties, this morning it didn't drop below 45.
So initial results are positive, looking like a 5-10% boost in mpg. I'll keep you posted. Shadeyman's video is a godsend!

I've just recieved a message about the condition of my right hand in the video. Yes, 3 of the 4 knuckles on my right hand are smashed to bits.

When I first went self employed money was tight so I worked weekends as a bouncer, continued for almost 9 years.

OK - update...
My homeward journey - first 15 miles, A roads. I usually show 49/50mpg as I hit the motorway. Sometimes less, never more. Today it read 55.
By the time I got home, it was reading 53.9. The best I'd ever had before was 51, it's usually under 50. All these trips are normal driving, and cruise control at 60 on the motorway.
So cleaning the MAP has given me an instant 8% fuel saving = so based on me spending 55 quid a week at the moment, I'm now 20 quid a month better off - over £200 a year!

Just to add - this morning's run, pretty typical, stopped at about half of the lights, and a dive into McD's, and a world record mpg of 52.4 - so I'm almost 10% improved.
