I know this topic has been covered a few times over. I get a wobble on the front of my 1.9jtd estate at around 60-85mph. I have put it down to needing a new drive shaft on the O/S, as I have done everything else that it could possibly be. I notice that the shaft comes in two sections, now would I need to get both sections or just the shaft from cv to spider joint? If I was to get a reconditioned one, does this come with two sections or just one?
Thanks

Not sure about your model, but some driveshafts have a balance weight clamped to them (item 1):

If that is loose or missing, it could account for your wobble. Having said that, it seems from EPer that these are only used on some petrol models. So maybe a loose driveshaft or CV joint on the way out?

I'm assuming of course that you've had your wheels balanced by someone who actually knows what they're doing (many don't!).

Yes wheels have been balanced a few times since the shake started. Its been doing it since i bought the car 3 years ago, but i only do very short journeys mainly and not very often can i get upto speed of wobble. So i came to the conclusion that after so long i should fix it, as maybe be selling soon.
Cheers

Is the car high mileage, I found the stilo driveshaft’s to be very durable.
Have you checked the tyres for undulations or twisting on the tread it’s a fairly common fault.

Only got 85000 miles so not high. But i would say its definately the drive shaft. It spent alot of its time in europe before i bought it and had lots of work done on it in europe, and i found that the actual shafts that are on the car, are from a lower engine sized car, i think 1.6 petrol. As last year i thought i would buy a new cv joint, i ordered one for my car but it didnt fit, as there wasnt enough splines on the shaft to fit the new cv. And between myself and the supplier we found that the cv for a 1.6 petrol fits.
