Hi all

Just wanted some advice from anyone who has a schumacher, please find below some pics of a front suspension set up in a shcumacher, is it right for the passenger side front strut brace and suspension arm to be sitting at an angle or it is not how it should be???

Don't understand your question. No Stilo has a strut brace fitted as standard and your pics deffo aren't of a strut brace...

Do you mean the McPherson strut? If so, I believe they should both be at the same angle to the road. Normally the top of the strut is slightly further back than the lower mount to induce castor angle. So if the picture on the right is of the passenger side, it doesn't look right (assuming it's RHD).

Thanks for your reply Yellow Peril

Yea I do apologize for the odd description, I am no mechanic or expert and I can see that I got names of parts the wrong way round lol

Ok this is very worrying now, I am going to double check this, I am heading out to to take some very still pics as I can see that the camera did tilt slightly when i took the pic so, I will be 10 minutes an post the new pics up

Ok I have surveyed the front suspension of the car and taken some better pictures, it is actually the drivers side that looks lenient not the passenger side my mistake, please find the pics below.
If somebody has a standard Schumacher edition and not a GP, could somebody possibly upload some pics of their own front suspension springs and shocks just for comparison purposes, thank you :)

I really should be more careful before pressing enter and posting up replies, from your input Yellow Peril and my mistake of which side the pic was actually taken from (Drivers side not Passenger side) then the angle of the spring and damper is about right.. I hope

that is wierd? how does it drive? have you removed the wheel to see if theres any kind of deformaty? like peril says they should be exactly the same on both sides - be it with a slight lean for the castor angle but they should be the same each way?

That is my next stage of investigation gadgemyster, I am sure that I am slightly over complicating things surely. The car drives absolutely fine, handles like a dream and there is no vibrations or rattles what so ever. When going over speed bumps you can slightly hear a suspension creek from the drivers side but i do not know if its just rust or what ever else it may be.

The car has had its drop links replaced today, the mechanics could have done something...

i know what you meant about "overcomplicating things", i thought my rear axle was gonna fall off - then it turned out to be just the tracking!!:D its amazing how we allways think the worse sometimes!

Totally gadgemyster, I was very eager to also know the problem with your rear axle, somebody on the forum posted up a similar issue but I never found out the answer or the post again lol

Do you have any picks of your front suspension springs and shocks gadgemyster that you could post up??
