Hello im hoping theres someone on here that can help me,

i own a 2003 fiat stilo.

im having "then CD player wont turn on and switch properly problem"

ive got it switched on so i can do it manually without the ignition but have read alot of threads saying there is no switched live from the ignition at the cd player wiring loom. i am considering bringing a switched live from elsewhere, but firstly just a couple of questions,

1, why does the factory stereo work as if there is an ignition switched live.

2, what do the two cables on the power loom do that do not connect anywhere on my sony xplode adaptor. i think they are thin brown and blue maybe

any help or comments would be appreciated

thanks

The answer to both your questions is the same - the two unused wires are the CAN wires that the Fiat stereo uses to communicate with the car's management system. These can't be used for connecting an aftermarket stereo.

You can easily run a switched live from either a wire under the steering wheel, or from the cigarette lighter. I did this myself (via the cig lighter) only a week or so ago, and it was very simple to do.

Sound advice nice one did it today on my lunch hour, luckily it was simple and I didn't get stuck at work due to some bizarre electrical fault :) if Anyone thinking of doing the same the above guide is realy helpful
