Hello all, after some help. Did me brakes and moved the boost valve today so disconnected the battery.

Closed the bonnet and now the warning inside the car is coming on, tried to close a couple of times and just won't go out.

Anyone know where the switch/connector is as think it may be that. the handle is a bit dodgey anyway and comes away from the plastic bits.

Anyone has any ideas

The bonnet open switch is a small black lever switch on the back of the catch. Perhaps the lever's been bent or the wiring plug is disconnected..

Is the "bonnet open" detected by the same micro switch as the alarm uses?

Have't got one of them its a 2002 Jtd. Can't even see any wiring coming out. Did unplug the airbag switch as that went mad but ok now. Just bonnet to sort

It's the only switch there is for the bonnet so I guess it must be.

Several people have had the "Bonnet Open" warning when the car doesn't have a bonnet switch. You could try the solution I posted that worked for someone else in this thread:

So from what I gather, the BC is the fuse box R/H/S

I am going to check on FES tomorrow to see what the alarm settings are on ensure they are on 0. I think I fiddled the other day and may have set it at 2 . Take the battery off and reconnect because this seems where it has come on.

If that doesn't sort it will look at BC and check pin 24.

If the car has the original Fiat alarm, it should have the bonnet switch.

Perhaps, like mine, someone has fitted the wrong bonnet catch and shorted the wires because it didn't have the switch. The shorting wire may have become detached so that the warning comes on now.

Have managed to get it off. Went into FES and took off the alarm UK (no 2) mode I put on and turned off the indicator lights and then disconnected the neg terminal of the battery and hey presto it worked thanks god.

Can i ask something about bonnet switch?? I have a bravo 2010 with genuine alarm fitted by the dealer but there isn't any switch on bonnet catch and i have a problem when i open the hood and alarm is active then nothing happen. I found the cable close to catch (read carefully the FIAT elearn) also there is on body computer the pin33 that is for switch (Code from elearn is I010). I try to earth the cable and nothing happen on alarm even on the dashboard (nothing indicates). Could you tell me if someone know how to enable the switch for alarm also for indicate on the dashboard. Thanks in advance.
