Well the Stilo was towed off again with the AA today, same problem being a faulty coil and firing on 4 cylinders!

Not impressed! I purchased a new car with the thought that the wife would have a reliable motor to get her to and from work with none of the reliabilty problems that an older car might bring.

To top it all it came back damaged the last time with a big chunk out of the side skirt and scrapes inside the door and dirty fingerprints all over the interior. To be fair the garage are going to repair the damage but the inconvenience of taking the car in and out of the garage all the time is wearing thin now.

I even considered trading it in the other day but the trade in price of 8,200 compared to the 12,200 that I paid three months ago put paid to that idea!

Fiat have put together a really impressive package with the Stilo and I cannot fault the car when it's working but I am getting fed up with travelling nearly 30 miles each way to have all the faults rectified.

Not only that but the wife is a nurse and therfor a shift worker and I dont like the idea of her breaking down at night and thus putting herself at risk.

Not impressed Fiat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like you have been unlucky with this car, how long has it actually been off the road in total.

I think it might be a little late to reject it, but might be worth investigating?

I have worked at many garages & I can assure you other manufacturers have as many problems as Fiat.....what makes the more 'prestige' manufactuers seem better is that they 'hide' manufacturing faults better! Everyone knows about Transit diesel pumps breaking up but what they dont know is Mercedes sprinter vans use same system,Ford are more open about it & Mercedes are better at 'keeping it quiet'.
David ask your dealer to collect & deliver your car, make sure there isn't enough fuel to get the car back to you so they have to put a tenner of fuel in it for you ;)

The car has been off the road only for about a week in total so far so I really dont think Fiat will entertain the idea of having the car back. We have got it back now and it is running fine.

If anyone has a spare 11,500 spare then they can have her! I paid 12,200 for it three months ago and have added new alloys to it since. Plus I have had all the warranty work done so someone would get a good car.

Found out today the wife is pregnant so I suppose something more sensible might be in order.

It has only done 10,000 miles and I would throw in the first service as well. On top of that the original garage agreed to spray the whole bonnet as i wasnt happy with a stonechip when i brought it. I have delayed getting this done so that the dreaded gritters could have their say this winter and i could get Fiat to pay for the lot in the summer. They have agreed to this and I would get this done at the same time as the first service.

Let me know guys if you are interested.

There are some pics posted on the galleries under my name but thats with the old alloys. It now has claw alloys.
