Evening all,

Can someone help me please?

I've been reading my manual (again!) and have read the section about the automatic rain sensor setting for the front wipers. From what I understand I set the stalk to the first setting down (one click from off setting) and adjust the knob to set the delay (or something like that)

Anyway...... I tried it today and all that happened was the blade went mad, it was about twice as fast as the regular "old fashioned" intermitent and it wasn't even raining!!

Anyone suggest where I'm going wrong, or is it something that needs to be added to the list of things the garage needs to sort next week?

Mine kind of does that too. You need to make sure the rain sensor is VERY clean cus any spec of dirt or dust stops light from hitting the sensor and when enough light is stopped the wiper is triggered.

I dont think you need to adjust the knob to set the delay, that is optional. I think it works fine without adjusting it.

Hi All,

Just been out for a drive today, I got caught in a very nasty thunder storm (with hail stones!!!) and put my wipers on.

I didnt realise but when it cleared the wipers would come occasionally to clear any drops from the screen. Maybe it needed a good rain storm to get it going!

P.S. Those automatic headlights are great too!!

I've never had much joy with setting the intermittent speed and the pigeon English manual doesn't help either - but being automatic I'm not even sure it makes a difference.

You can improve matters drastically by using some glass treatment called Rainex. Whenever it rains the water just beads off the windscreen and you can pretty much drive without even needing to use the wipers. Its flipping wonderful!

Oh, I also like the neat little touch of the the rear wiper coming on if you select reverse whilst the front wipers are going. A simple, but brillant idea.

As for the automatic headlights, they are a nice idea but I can't seem to find the right setting so they either come on whenever a cloud covers the sun or they don't come on at all! Even worse, you look a right wally when you stop in traffic under a bridge and your lights suddenly come on.
