Hi, I am new to this forum having recently purchased a 56 plate Stilo Blue, I was having trouble trying to get the key into the boot lock to open it, seems the lock is full of dirt and grit. So to save a bob or two I stripped the lock down and hey presto it works again, trouble is there was a small spring that came out of the back end of the lock mech that forces the key back to its position once you have turned the key.... I have left this spring out as I couldnt work out where and how it goes back in. Any clues or photos would be helpful. Fiat didnt want to know unless I wanted a new lock set !!!

I don't think anyone has ever dismantled the lock to have photo's of it.

Thanks Davren, thats what I thought really, anyway got it to work but doesnt auto return the key to the centre position. Glad its remote operated though too.

Just manually move the key to the desired position. They rarely brake down, this is why nobody has pictures on how to solve the issue.
