Hey,

I have recently bought an 03 Stilo 5 Door 16v 1600 cc. Over the weekend one of the ignition coils went and i had to drive it for about 900 yards as i did not at first know that it was gone as soon as i did i drove it back home. I had a look at the coils and tested them removing one at a time with the engine on to see if any had gone and one seemed broke so i switched it to another coil just to make sure it was the coil and from this i worked out that the coil was gone. So today i went by a fiat dealer and bought a new one and fitted it. I thought everything was ok, but when i turned the engine on i noticed that every so often the engine would like shudder a little and when i put my foot down on the accelerator between 0 and 300 revs the rpm dial would show that the revs would go down if i held it steady.

I took it out for a drive and noticed that wheneve i try to accelerate hard i would lose power (i think) no matter what gear i am in, but if i accelerate slowly it is fine. it also does seem that the car does not seem to be going able to go to high revs when i move from still. I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me any advice into what could be the problem.

Is maybe the spark plug wet because of unburnt fuel before the coil was changed. or has fuel mixed with the oil, or even fuel filled the exhaust to have caused this problem, i had no problem with teh car before the coil went.

I would really appreciate anyones help.

Cheers

edit** also the car constantly shows the engine fauly light due to electrical wiring problem,
when the coil went it would flash and a loud constant bleeping noise happened which has now stopped and it has gone back to how it was when it was fine.
