General Discount on new Stilo JTD Dynamic??

Maybe not a current Fiat deal then. The person told me that they can offer 0% but would have to reduce the discount. There was discount on offer but wasn't as high as I would like.

If you are using HP, then surely work out cost of car one way with 0% and lower discount, and the other with x% and higher discount.....You may end up paying more with 0%, possibly.

I think you will probably end up paying similar, which ever way you pick. The lower discount is likley to make up for the 0%....

EDIT- the 0% option will be more benificial if you are going to pay for it over a long time. If you are only going to keep the car for a year, then i would opt for the higher discount, with the higher % repayments....

When I was looking around, the dealers were reluctant to give discounts, because they were doing such low rate finance. Thing is though, with the Jamjar discount, even though I pay more in interest the TOTAL COST (which is the most important thing) is lower than list price.

One thing though, is most people have a budget of what they can pay monthly, rather than the total, so occassionally, the overall cheaper deal may be less affordable, if that makes sense

Try some online dealers though (y)

You can't blame them for trying, but Fiat dealers not doing discounts on a Stilo is Jackanory stuff :D

As stuart says, check out the two deals, one paying interest but with a bigger discount, the other paying less but getting 0%. I bet they work out the same

You should never pay the screen price they are asking for. New or Used. Esp. at Fiat. If they know your serious and have the reddies, they won't let you go! ;)

Oh they were giving discounts, but even so, the total cost was still well over what Jamjar cost.

Jamjar prices are what you pay, the only extra is delivery to your door, £85 to have it driven there, or £150 for a transporter. You can of course pick it up at no cost, I was going to do that, but they messed me around a little with delivery dates, so I ended up getting it delivered FOC (y)

Here in Spain the discount currently on all stilo's is of 1800 euros and i managed to get it up to 2200 euros after a bit of blufing. I also managed to get them to give me the arm rest, the spoiler, 5 year warranty, some safety wheel nuts and carpets.
If they are able to do this kind of discount in Spain i'm sure they must be able to do something decent in england. Try pushing your dealer by telling him all about all the other cars you're loking at (ading some extra spice to it obviously!!)
Best of luck (y)

The discount was about £1000 with 0% interest free which didn't actually seem a great deal - got better last time. That said I think the 0% finance is countering the discount, but the normal finance rate was frankly awful. I didn't bother pushing much because I didn't necessarily want to get a great deal which I couldn't refuse. :) The dealer said they could offer upto £2500 discount which is in line with jamjar, I think I'd be better off with that since I wan't to have no more than 24 months finance. I might well ring them up again and see if I can push up a better deal, that said I'm not sure I want to change at the mo esp. since I'd lose all the toys and the dynamic really does seem poverty spec after the abarth. Looking at a Citreon C4 at the weekend as well.

Get the discount, ignore the dealer finance and speak to the nice man (or woman) at the Alliance and Liecester who are doing 5.9% (I think its that anyway). The C4 is a really nice motor BTW (y)

3 dr 1.9 JTD Dynamic OTR price is £12,895 + £310 for met paint. 5 dr is 13495 Dynamic + same paint & 5 dr Active JTD is £12395 + same paint. Just had those in front of me!

As currently looking at changing Punto for another 1.4 5dr Active....list price of that £10695 + paint although tempted to go for free paint of murano (?) blue.

paid the list price for my 2005 jtd but got 7200 for my 2003 1.2 so good deal i think..
