Hi Guys,

Well the engines nearly out. Pics to follow on the other project thread, but first, just a few questions!

The only things connecting the controls to the engine now is the gearbox linkages, but i cannot for the life of me work out how to pop the little ball joints apart. any tips and is this the correct place to remove the gearbox linikage from?

Secondly, i was thinking about removing the air con, all the way from the air con pump, rad and piping. Has this been done my anybody, and would it be a simple case of plugging the holes that go through the bulkhead? I have no experience with fiat air con systems so any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers guys,(y)

Yeah i thought it might moan to hell as well! No real great reason. The air con needs re-charging and to be honest it's never used, and secondly i'm playing with the idea of rally styling the car, so getting rid on unwanted weight and piping in the engine bay is no bad thing.

ah ha i see...might be worth noting, when i had a crash my A/C compressor got killed, and whislt i was trying to track down another one (theyre quite pricey at fiat would you belive it lol) my mechanic tried a selection of different belts to get it to run without, but couldnt find one that fitted...and i think the compressor is faaaar heavier than the piping...dont know if its doable :( , but best to wait for a few mroe replies..

yeah i was going to remove everything including the air con pump, and all piping, as that would save a fair bit of weight. Doesn't look hard to do, just being Italian, i can guarantee there will be something fiddly about it!
