Hi guys.
Just bought an 02 Stilo JTD 115bhp.

Read lots of reports of acceleration being extremely slow to 10mph where a fault is present (EGR valve etc?)

However, mine isn't quite like that.

It does feel slower than it should to 50mph. Almost a if there's no turbo. There is a bit of a surge though so presuming that is functioning.

No smoke. No lights. No strange noises.

I have noticed that occasionally the engine fault light will come on red which seems to limit the maximum revs to 3,500, but a couple of key cycles usually clears that issue.

Are the two related to the same problem? Any ideas what one or both might be?

Thanks in advance!

I know what you mean. I used to have a problem with mine being underpowered. But now the problem with mine is different. It doesnt feel as if there is as much turbo 'kick' as there used to be. Can't for the life of me figure out why after a good clean down, service and new parts. Makes no sense to me.

Think i'll look into changing the MAF and EGR soon.

Mine gets a little delay on 1st gear take off but part from that it pulls well through the gears. Its a 115 jtd im thinking to get it mapped to see if it improves it any. I know the previous owner cleaned the egr valve although i dont know when. I dont notice any power losses at any other time. If i revved it up on take off im sure it would take off like a bullet but i like to try and be economical most of the time. My mpg aint that great though only around 40, when i got it tho the previous owner had 48, i mainly use it for short journeys tho so probably the reason why.

Dont think you should get an engine fault red like until you rev into the red which is def over 4000 not 3500. Make sure the speed limit warning isnt on in the settings.
